15.1.2013 Around april each year many places in Japan turn pink with Sakura, creating beautiful sights and attracting people from all places. In Japanese culture the Sakura plays a big role, as a reminder of the transient beauty of life. Japanese pianist Yukiko Hasegawa brings this part of Japanese culture to the Netherlands with the Sakura Project. A concert with classical music played by Hasegawa accompanied by photo's of Sakura from all over Japan; The Sakura's short life in combination with the ephemeral nature of music.
For this cause Yukiko asked Japanese photographers to contribute their Sakura photo's of 2012. Please scroll down for some beautiful photographs.
